West Coast Sliders, Hot Pastrami, Garlic Fries, Cupcakes Part Of Auto Club 500 Weekend Fare
San Bernardino County, Calif. (February 12, 2009) – Auto Club Speedway has just put an end to the long-standing myth – “There’s nothing like a race way hot dog.” In fact, there IS.
West coast sliders, cupcakes, hot pastrami, mini hot dogs, 1/3-pound burgers, garlic fries and to wash it all down – a 5,400-pound keg – all part of the new and exciting variety of food and beverage options debuting at Auto Club Speedway during the Auto Club 500 Weekend Feb. 20-22.
As always, fans are welcome to bring their own delectables to the event if they choose. But with reduced value priced menu items suited for today’s economy and “single” servings big enough to share, fans will no doubt want to leave room for food and spirits unmatched on the NASCAR Circuit and found throughout the Speedway grounds on race weekend.
New to the food lineup throughout the property this year includes:
□ Canter’s Deli: A Los Angeles landmark since 1931, this Fairfax district classic is known for its New York deli fare especially the corned beef and pastrami sandwiches.
□ Gordon Biersch: Their wildly famous “garlic fries” -- premium potatoes paired with the most famous garlic in the country Christopher Ranch garlic, fresh from Gilroy, the garlic capital of the world make their debut at ACS.
□ Deschutes Brewery Traveling Bar: Oregon-based Woody -- a giant wooden beer barrel on wheels featuring multiple delicious Deschutes Brewery beers, a stereo, and a disco ball – comes to town – all 5,400 pounds, 43-feet, 5 inches.
□ Juicys Outlaw Grill: The world's largest bar-b-que at over 20 feet high, weighing 27 tons and covering nearly 100 feet of turf can cook over 1,000 items simultaneously including Outlaw Burgers, Turkey Legs and Giant Western Sausage.
□ Sprinkles Cupcakes: Banana, carrot, ginger lemon, peanut butter chip, vanilla milk chocolate, red HOT velvet, just a few of the flavors race fans can experience from this Beverly Hills mainstay.
□ Oh yea, pizza, hot dogs and burgers too: Americrown delivers on an upgraded and enhanced new menu as well with traditional hot dogs, pizza and your not so traditional West Coast sliders – three mini cheeseburgers with the likes of bacon & cheddar, avocado sprouts with Monterey Jack and the traditional lettuce, tomato and onion. While in the suites customers can feast on lamb chops, seared beef medallions, stone crab, shrimp or Ajiaco chicken.
