NASCAR Driver Denny Hamlin Launches Auto Club Speedway "Has Heart" Program
Ticket package to benefit world-renowned Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (Jan. 29, 2010) – NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Driver Denny Hamlin, driver of the No.11 FedEx Toyota Camry made a visit to the Inland Empire on Thursday, stopping by at Dave & Buster’s in Ontario, Calif. for an exclusive Q&A session with Hard Card season ticket holders, then Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital to meet with young patients and their families.
During the hospital tour, Dr. Leonard Bailey, who pioneered infant heart transplantation surgery 25 years ago at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital by transplanting a baboon’s heart into “Baby Fae,” welcomed Hamlin to the hospital.
“We googled you,” said Dr. Bailey. “You’re pretty hot stuff in NASCAR right now.”
In conjunction to his visit to Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital, Hamlin and Auto Club Speedway announced Thursday, a portion of the Auto Club Speedway Has Heart ticket package will go directly to Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.
