NASCAR Day Celebrations Continue

~ Bass Pro Shops hosts another “Jaylen’s Car Wash” ~

San Bernardino County, Calif. (May 18, 2010) – Following a successful beginning to NASCAR Day celebrations with “Jaylen’s Car Wash” at Auto Club Speedway last week, Stater Bros. Supermarkets and Bass Pro Shops will continue the spirit of helping those in need.

Now until Sunday, May 23 Stater Bros. Supermarkets throughout San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, Los Angeles, San Diego and Kern Counties will accept donations to support NASCAR Day at the checkout aisles.  Those who make a $5 donation will receive the 2010 NASCAR Day collectible lapel pin.

In addition to the NASCAR DAY pins at local Stater Bros. Supermarkets, on Friday, May 21 from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Bass Pro Shops at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga will host “Jaylen’s Car Wash” to support the NASCAR Day initiative.  Four-year-old Jaylen is a Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (LLUCH) heart patient who has a dream of becoming a NASCAR driver when he grows up.

For only $10 (proceeds benefit LLUCH and The NASCAR Foundation), drivers can help make that dream come true for Jaylen and thousands of other children by bringing their cars to Bass Pro Shops for a car wash, the NASCAR Day pin and a chance to win the NASCAR Day Sweepstakes, a trip for two to the 2010 NASCAR Champions Week in Las Vegas. Staff and volunteers from Auto Club Speedway, The NASCAR Foundation, LLUCH, Bass Pro Shops, Kohl’s, UPS, Loma Linda Academy, Kiwanis Club and the San Bernardino County Sheriff Department Explorers will be on to hand to wash the cars.

Turtle Wax®, the world leader in car care, will donate all of the car care product used during “Jaylen’s Car Wash” and each participant will drive away with a sample of Turtle Wax’s latest product Turtle Wax ICE.

Additionally, Auto Club Speedway is offering a special ticket package surrounding NASCAR Day.  For only $50, race fans that purchase the NASCAR Day ticket package will receive:

• Pepsi Rock-n-Rows Reserved Seat (rows 1-5) to the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup playoff race – the Pepsi 400 – on Sunday, Oct. 10. Upgrades available at additional cost.
• Pre-Race Pit Pass
• NASCAR Day collectible lapel pin

$5 of each NASCAR Day ticket package will be donated to The NASCAR Foundation which supports a wide range of charitable initiatives that reflect the core values of the entire NASCAR Family.  And if you purchase the package that day, fans will receive a free gift.  The NASCAR Day ticket offer expires June 15, 2010.

Since 2008, Auto Club Speedway has raised over $131,000 for local charities during its NASCAR Day efforts.
