‘Craftsman® Across America’ Tractor Pushes Off From Auto Club Speedway
One man on one lawn tractor made a stop at the Auto Club Speedway today for some fun at the track before hitting the road for a coast-to-coast three month journey.
As part of the Craftsman Across America tour, the driver, Lucas Van Engen, and his trusted lawn tractor stopped at Southern California’s ultimate motorsports destination – Auto Club Speedway, before putting the wheels to the road to start ‘the ultimate road trip.’ A Craftsman Across America kick-off event was also held in Santa Monica on Saturday, where a $5,000 donation was made to the Santa Monica Parks Department.
The three-month endurance test aboard a 54-inch Kohler Courage 26-horsepower gas powered riding lawn tractor (#28948) will cover roughly 3,300 miles of U.S. asphalt and lawns before concluding in New York City on Aug. 24.
The Craftsman Across America journey will demonstrate the durability and performance of Craftsman riding mowers and engage people across the country, by meeting and making stops at Sears Hometown Store locations and other attractions along the way. Donations to local parks departments will be made in select cities. Craftsman Across America enthusiasts can visit www.craftsmanacrossamerica.com soon to track the driver’s journey, find out where he is stopping next, leave suggestions on places to visit and read the Craftsman Across America blog with commentary, images and video that will be uploaded from the road each day.
