Text Your Vote and Help Auto Club Speedway Win the Red Bull Flugtag People’s Choice Craft Award
Text to vote starts Friday, Aug. 20 at 11 a.m. PDT
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (Aug. 19, 2010) – The flying machine is built (and we use flying loosely). The timing is down pat (well, maybe not down pat just yet). Team No. 20 – Auto Club Speedway Red Bull Flugtag team – is ready to take Long Beach Rainbow Harbor by storm on Saturday, Aug. 21 (this, good or bad for Long Beach, we are sure of). But we need your help to win.
On Friday, Aug. 20 at 11 a.m. PDT, voting for the People’s Choice Craft begins. Vote for Auto Club Speedway by simply texting “Team20” to 72855. Every vote counts to help propel Auto Club Speedway to the lead. The phone lines are only open for only 24-hours and fans can vote up to 15 times in that 24-hour period. Standard text and data rates apply.
Representing the only team from the Inland Empire, Auto Club Speedway will be bringing its NASCAR themed race car flying craft to Rainbow Harbor. With a 30-foot wing attached to the stock car, the Auto Club Speedway team will perform a mock pit stop before soaring into the harbor propelling the team into Flugtag history by attempting to shatter the Flugtag record for the farthest flight-to-date of 207 feet. If they do not shatter the record the team will not be disappointed. They will bask in the glow that they looked great making the attempt.
The months of teamwork and preparation have kept the team busy at the speedway. They have designed, crafted, built and practiced to be the best team they can be. Throughout the building process they have been assisted by the enterprising minds of Auto Club Speedway staff.
“We could not have come close to the chance of being a world record team without our friends at Auto Club Speedway,” said Captain Patrick “Moose” Wuertz. “They will be cheering us on from the sidelines at Rainbow Harbor and that will energize us to accomplish great things.”
