Auto Club Speedway Honors Southern California Foster Mothers and Their Families at Mother’s Day Event

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif.  (April 26, 2011) – On a day that NASCAR traditionally takes the day off of racing to honor Mother’s Day, Auto Club Speedway staff members, including Speedway President Gillian Zucker, will help bring the spirit of the day to thousands of foster mothers and their families

More than 20 Speedway staff members will help create an unforgettable day for nearly 2,000 foster mothers and their family members at AltMothersDay festivities with a beautiful meal catered by Wolfgang Puck for all attendees, a beauty bar for hair and make-up, games for kids, entertainment, a reading lounge, arts and crafts and numerous other family-oriented activities.

AltMothersDay organizers dkkevents and Gateways Hospital, including the host family who has opened their home for the day for the past five years, believe this event makes Mother’s Day even more special for everyone involved. The entire event will be staffed by volunteers, including volunteers from Auto Club Speedway.

“Being able to pamper these much deserving caregivers for all the love and dedication they share with their foster children is amazing,” shared Auto Club Speedway President Gillian Zucker. “The staff at Auto Club Speedway, myself included, is proud to be part of this special day to honor these extraordinary people in our community.”

In addition to event organizers dkkevents and Gateways Hospital, sponsors include Auto Club Speedway, FIJI Water, Wolfgang Puck, Skylight Books, Aveda, Jouer, and Classic Party Rentals.  Entertainment will be provided by Shanee x, Solar DJ, the Rhymatist, and former USC women’s basketball player Jamie Hagiya with a guest appearance by Elsie Fisher.

Donations are still needed in order to bring the event to fruition and sponsorship opportunities for this event are still available. Visit for details.
