About Slater’s 50/50: Southern California native and bacon aficionado, Slater’s 50/50 founder Scott Slater, started off his career in the restaurant industry with string of successful concessions stands. Inspired by his love of bacon, Slater set out to make his next endeavor one that would capture the essence of a great neighborhood eatery where he would like to frequent: home to good beer, great food and a bar staff that is never surly. In 2009, Slater teamed up with college buddy and chef Brad Lyons to open the first Slater’s 50/50 in Anaheim Hills, California. Named after a Charger’s tailgate party dare to create an all-bacon burger, Scott and Brad’s creative juices flowed as they developed the restaurant’s namesake 50/50 patty which, alongside their larger-than-life burger creations, has taken Southern California by storm. In the past four years, subsequent locations have opened in San Diego, Huntington Beach, Pasadena, Lake Forest and Rancho Cucamonga, much to the delight of bacon, burger and beer worshipers everywhere.
