FONTANA, Calif.  (Oct. 15, 2014)Lefty’s Track Day is back and it’s your last chance this year to drive your own vehicle on Auto Club Speedway’s 2 mile, D-shaped oval.  On Thursday, Oct. 30 between 3-5:30p.m., Auto Club Speedway will be open for the public to drive their own vehicle on Southern California’s premier motorsports facility.   And it’s all for charity!

For a $10 donation, race fans get to drive their car on the track.   For $20 per person, race fans can experience speeds over 100 mph for a ride in the official Auto Club Speedway Pace Car.

Photo opportunities with the Auto Club 400 trophy, NASCAR Show Car, 1948 Fleetmaster Hot Rod Woody and 1927 T-Bucket Roadster will be available while on site.  Young race fans can also take photos and interact with Lefty, Auto Club Speedway’s Kids Club President.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Auto Club Speedway Foundation which supports Lefty’s Reading Challenge, a program that encourages reading excellence from Southern California elementary school children and provides grants to school libraries.

Lefty’s Reading Challenge is part of Auto Club Speedway’s heralded youth initiative.  More than 100,000 students from San Bernardino, Riverside and Los Angeles Counties read nearly 700,000 books during Lefty’s Reading Challenge earlier this year, for a chance to win thousands of dollars for their school libraries and a school-wide pizza party.

A special ticket offer will be available for Lefty’s Track Day participants that purchase tickets to the 2015 NASCAR Auto Club 400.  For as low as $35, you can lock in early bird prices, choose the best seats available and pay no service fees!    And if at some point, we offer a different ticket deal that you prefer, you can always switch.  Race fans will never be penalized for purchasing tickets early.
