Mark Jablonski from the National Blood Clot Alliance (cause marketing partner)

What:  Brian Vickers and Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc., will hold a press conference to discuss Janssen’s sponsorship of NASCAR®’s TREATMYCLOT.COM 300 XFINITY Series™ race at Auto Club Speedway during Blood Clot Awareness Month. The race is scheduled for Saturday, March 19 at 1 p.m. (PT).

Why: On average, one person dies from a blood clot about every 5 minutes.  In fact, more people die from deep vein thrombosis or a pulmonary embolism than breast cancer, traffic accidents and HIV combined. That’s why, in honor of Blood Clot Awareness Month, Janssen is partnering with Brian Vickers and the Auto Club Speedway for the third consecutive year to help raise awareness about the signs and symptoms of blood clots during Blood Clot Awareness Month.

Janssen will sponsor the NASCAR® XFINITY Series™ race, TREATMYCLOT.COM 300 at Auto Club Speedway, and additionally, Brian Vickers will race with a new paint scheme on the #14 Janssen Arnie’s Army Charitable Foundation Chevrolet on Sunday in the Auto Club 400 NASCAR® Sprint Cup™ race in support of his friend, and Janssen’s partner, legendary golfer Mr. Arnold Palmer. Brian and Mr. Arnold Palmer have partnered with Janssen to share their personal experiences with blood clots to help others. Videos featuring their personal experiences are on www.TreatMyClot.com.

In addition, Janssen will make a donation to the National Blood Clot Alliance to fund resources and education in the space.
