FONTANA, CALIF. – March 7, 2019 - Cole Custer, Driver of the No. 00 Ford for Stewart-Haas Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series has been named the Honorary President of Lefty’s Kids Club at Auto Club Speedway, a major youth initiative which provides area youth with a positive and enriching outlook on life inspiring achievement and education in an effort to build future race fans.

Three Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Drivers have also served as Honorary President for Lefty’s Kids Club including Kasey Kahne in 2018; Ryan Blaney in 2017 and Daniel Suárez in 2016.

One of Custer’s first duties is to make a pit stop to read to young fans prior to the start of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Auto Club 400 (Sunday, March 17) as part of Driver Storytime at Lefty’s Fun Zone at 8:45 a.m. in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Zone.

As honorary president, Custer will be the ambassador for Lefty’s Kids Club, which offers a free membership for children 12 years old and under. Kids who show their Lefty’s Kids Club membership card get free general admission to NASCAR Qualifying Day (3/15) and NASCAR Xfinity Series Production Alliance Group race (3/16) with a paid adult.

Custer will also cheer on over 150,000 students who participate in Lefty’s Reading Challenge, a free literacy program in over 200 elementary schools in San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange and Los Angeles Counties.

Families attending the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Auto Club 400 Race Weekend (March 15-17) have access to Lefty’s Fun Zone to enjoy family-friendly activities such as giant bubble rollers, giant obstacle course, tire changing challenges and activation booths including Omnitrans and Big Al’s Ontario.
