Even Better Than Before
New Page 1
There have been several fan-friendly improvements at and around the track since NASCAR made its last visit in February. The California Department of Transportation has erected signage on nearby freeways to provide directional assistance to California Speedway. The signs, on the I-10 (east and westbound), I-15 (north and southbound) and I-210 (east and westbound) freeways will alert visitors to the appropriate freeway exits to get to the track. Once at the track, fans will have an easier time parking and exiting as several of the parking lots have been re-striped to improve loading and exit times. Misters have been installed at gates and near restrooms on both sides of the Apex/Impulse building located in the Opportunity, California FanZone. Also new for this race, the hottest spot at the track will also be one of the coolest as the Laughlin Party Zone will now be air conditioned. But wait, that's not the end of it! This month California Speedway announced the launch of a page on MySpace, the social networking website. By visiting www.myspace.com/californiaspeedway fans can participate in a variety of unique contests and promotions. The first contest was a VIP experience for the NASCAR Labor Day weekend, which included VIP tickets to the Sharp AQUOS 500 and Camping World 300, pit passes to both events and laps around California Speedway with NASCAR driver Carl Edwards (winner announced 8/27).
