Ryan Newman, the champion of the 50th running of the Daytona 500, will appear at California Speedway Day in L.A. at Hollywood & Highland Center this Wednesday.  After driving to the center in a NASCAR race car, Ryan will be greeted by officials from the City of Los Angeles, who will welcome him to the city and officially proclaim Wednesday, February 20, 2008, as California Speedway Day in LA.  Newman will race at California Speedway on Sunday, February 24, 2008 in the Auto Club 500, the West Coast Premiere of NASCAR.  California Speedway Day in LA is an annual event that salutes racing fans in Los Angeles and kicks off pre-race activities in Southern California.
