FONTANA, Calif. (February 25, 2019) – Five motorsports stars are joining Auto Club Speedway’s tribute to short track racing by participating in a special “Five Wide Q&A: A Short Track Tribute” on Sunday, March 17 prior to the start of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Auto Club 400.
Moderated by Steve Post, co-host of Winged Nation and Pit Reporter for MRN, the panel features Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Drivers Kyle Larson and Clint Bowyer; K&N Pro Series driver Hailie Deegan; Sprint Car and former NASCAR driver Dave Blaney; and seven-time USAC champion Damion Gardner.
The Five Wide Q&A: A Short Track Tribute is open to all ticket holders and scheduled from 9:30 a.m. – 9:50 a.m. on the main stage in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Fan Zone.
“This Auto Club 400 race weekend is about saluting the fans and paying tribute to the history of short track racing,” said Dave Allen, President of Auto Club Speedway. “We are honored to have these racing stars on stage for fans to listen to their stories and passion for racing whether it’s on dirt or asphalt.”
As part of the Five Wide festivities planned during NASCAR Auto Club 400 race weekend, ticket holders will also experience the following:
- Five Wide Salute: For the first time on the NASCAR circuit, Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers will line up for a “Five Wide Salute” during the pace laps prior to the drop of the green flag for the Auto Club 400.
- California Sprint Car racing superstar Tony Jones and Damion Gardner will be signing autographs at the Perris Auto Speedway’s display near Lefty’s Fun Zone.
With a race ticket, fans get access to the O’Reilly Auto Parts Fan Zone for driver appearances, live music performances, autograph sessions, Monster Energy activations, Viva La Fiesta Zone, Lefty’s Fun Zone, sponsor activations and other family fun.
