FONTANA, Calif. – How about having dinner under the lights at a NASCAR track? Well, California Steel Industries, Inc. (CSI) did just that by holding their 35th Anniversary “An Evening under the Stars” event at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana on Saturday, August 24, 2019.
“It was our pleasure to open our doors to CSI and all their great employees,” said Dave Allen, President of Auto Club Speedway. “I’d like to thank them for choosing our facility for such an important occasion…it was a spectacular event.”
Approximately 1,000 California Steel Industries employees and guests took part in the anniversary festivities. The opening reception was held on pit road with a giant timeline of photographs paying tribute the history of the steel production company.
“California Steel Industries celebrated its 35 Year Anniversary with an amazing event held at Auto Club Speedway. The team at the Speedway ensured its success through their meticulous attention to every last detail, throughout the planning process to the evening itself,” said Kyle Schulty, Assistant to the President, Special Projects for California Steel Industries. “They were a pleasure to work with, and truly looked out for everything we could possibly need. Everyone at CSI is wondering how we’ll ever top it – unless it’s another event at Auto Club Speedway.”
Lounge areas were set in place allowing employees to mix and mingle before sitting at beautifully decorated tables under party lights dangling across the “ballfield” of the Speedway. The lively night also included a DJ and employees danced the night away on the Auto Club “bug” near the start/finish line.
A buffet dinner was catered by Auto Club Speedway’s food and beverage partner, Americrown. The menu featured a green salad, chilled marinated spaghetti squash salad, tomato mozzarella salad with arugula, chef attended Santa Maria tri-tip, seared salmon with dill cream sauce, potato gruyere gratin, green beans almandine, rolls, salted caramel cheesecake, and pumpkin roll.
The evening ended with a spectacular firework display.
